7 Stylish Home Organization Ideas

Hello, readers. I can’t believe it’s already May! If you’re like me, then life has probably kept you pretty busy–especially if you work a lot, own a business, or take care of your kids at home. Doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for keeping the house from getting messy, does it?

Fear not! With all the stylish options we have at our fingertips these days, organizing all that smallish paraphernalia you keep at home has never been easier. In fact, it can even be fun! Don’t believe me? Take a look these 7 Stylish Home Organization Ideas and see if you can’t make a few work for you.

Don't like shelving on your nightstands? Try an end table with open shelving and store your nighttime necessities in a stylish basket! | The Happy Home Therapist

1. The Untraditional Nightstand

Don’t like the look of nightstands that have drawers, or just ready to try something new? Opt for an open end table instead  with shelving. That way, you can still reach what you want to keep out or store away what you don’t want on display in a nifty basket or bin in a color, style and design that you like.

2. Stylish Desktop Storage

It’s easy for a desk to look cluttered when there are so many tools and papers at your disposal. Keep things organized with transparent organizers for a light and airy look or solid decorative ones to add color. You could even use a stylish drinking glass to store things like pencils and rulers!

Don't have much space at your front door? Choose a furniture piece with narrow open shelving and park your shoes and keys in decorative bins and boxes! | The Happy Home Therapist

3. Front Door Parking

Sometimes, when we come home, it’s just convenient to drop things at the first opportunity we get. That usually ends up being wherever we spot an unused surface first. Minimize the spread of objects (and your chances of losing them) by creating a port when you first walk in. If your entry is small, look for narrow shelving or a table where you can store items like keys and shoes in small bins, boxes or baskets.

Tend to leave items you have in your pockets in random places around the house? Try placing an attractive bowl where you tend to leave things most! | The Happy Home Therapist

4. Pocket Junk

Okay, it may not really be junk at all, but when stuff you usually keep in your pockets ends up all over the house it kind of starts to feel that way, doesn’t it? Create good habits by picking a place you tend to drop pocket items and place a nice bowl or decorative lidless box there to catch it all. Perhaps even place a small trash bin nearby to make easy to toss things you really don’t need. Over time, you’ll get used to the process and it will help you find that chapstick or pocket change when you need it later!

5. A Closet With Purpose

Closets can often become a hidden catch-all for things we just don’t know what to do with. Create a purposeful closet space by keeping only what you need and giving certain items a home. For example, use simple shelving for shoes and decorative bins for things like hats, purses, or folded linens.

Low on counter space in the bathroom? Try installing a stylish shelf over the toilet to store items such as cotton balls and Q-tips! | The Happy Home Therapist

6. Bathroom Necessities

Sometimes bathrooms don’t come with a lot of storage options, or maybe they just don’t come with enough. A decorative shelf over the toilet can add some much needed space for things you use often and give you the chance to show off some stylish containers in the process!

Don't have room to store your favorite bedroom toiletries or jewelry? Try storing them on top of your dresser in decorative baskets, boxes or bins! | The Happy Home Therapist

7. Getting Ready in the Bedroom

For those who keep their dressers stuffed to capacity with clothes and like getting ready for the day in a more spacious bedroom rather than the bathroom, it might be easier to keep items such as lotions and jewelry on top of a dresser or table. Baskets and bins come in a variety of styles and colors and make great receptacles for toiletries and fashion accessories. Keeping a mirror nearby (if you don’t already have one in the bedroom already) might not be a bad idea, either!

I keep my organized by getting rid of items I am not using. I also use bins and storage units to hid paper items as well. A clutter space is a clutter mind! ;) I love all the ideas you suggested!
